| Re: Cheaters Cheaters are hard to deal with! Lighting someone up is not a option, If you do this you have just lowered yourself to there level of play. If talking to the individual or the field owner can not take care of the situation. The next option is to not play at the field or accept the fact that this player is a wiper and stay away from them. There was a great write up by Kahuna from Scenerio Paintball on Cheaters. I printed it up and would had it to people that I witnessed wiping or other rule violations. Here is Kahuna's write up: Cheaters You know what makes me mad? You know what makes me angry? Cheaters. One of the things I can not stand in Scenario Paintball is cheating, now in scenario paintball games allot of things we do could, and would be considered cheating by many inexperienced players, of course that is the thing that makes scenario ball so much fun. Things like fake props and having the general take a bathroom break at just the right time, having spies and buying information from the opposing team, these all raise the fun level and the thinking level of a scenario game, they make it more real and more exciting. these are not the type of things that I am talking about when I talk about cheating. I am talking about things like wiping and not calling yourself hit. I am talking about going out of bounds to get somewhere and sneaking back in, things like this not only lower the sport they lower the cheater. It is one thing to be beat by a player, it is another to lower yourself and admit another player is totally superior to you. A cheater does this every time they cheat. They are admiting they have to cheat in order to compete. That is what you do every time you cheat, you acknowledge the other player is the better player and you are not willing to admit that you were beat fair and square, and try again next time. Cheaters are saying “ I can not beat this player fairly he/she is a much better player than I am, so I am going to cheat in order to have a chance against this player who is so vastly superior to me”. This is why people cheat, they cheat because they are afraid to compete on equal grounds, they cheat because they are not good enough to play fair and have a chance to win. This is the same in all sports it is not unique to PaintBall, in baseball they put a core in the bat or the pitcher uses something on the ball, in golf you write down 4 when you swing a 5 and in Scenario paintball well you get the idea. It is not the sport that brings out the cheater, this is a trait, the person that cheats durring a scenario paintball game will cheat in life. If this describes you, get a life, stop being a loser and start trying to better yourself, quit being a quitter, try harder, you will be happier in the end and like yourself more. Maybe we need to start a cheaters anonymous club we could call it PBCA (PaintBall Cheaters Anonymous) and it would be a place to help you over come your fears and know you are still loved. you could hear X-cheaters tell you how they have overcome the fear of fair competition and now play fair. you could watch videos about Paintball and take special classes to improve your skills. then after you have learned to play with skill instead of cheating, we could have a graduation scenario and give you a chance to test your new game. Of course you will probably still get spanked, because all that time you were cheating instead of playing real scenario ball, the people you were playing against were getting better. Of course that’s just my opinion Kahuna Editor@scenarioball.com I Welcome your comments 8/9/2003 I still enjoy reading this! |

| Re: Cheaters Whoops! didn't read the scenario ... I assumed I was still in play.Based on the scenario. I would aproach the ref, quietly inform him of what I saw, and ask that he watch this guy for a few games. If I get indifference from the ref I then ask the manager and the ref if he wants my money and my friends' money. I have 6 fields within a reasonable drive. |

| Re: Cheaters I ran in to that today there were a couple guys that after blatant break would not leave the field. so some of the guys on my team took it upon them selves to add a little lets say added encouragement to leave IE shot a few extra times. then told the ref.the refs response was to "give them a chance to call them selves out and if they did not in a timely manner light em up" then told the guys that he had watched them do this and also told them not to over shoot as they had been doing" give them a chance" all in all there was no need to have to light them up because I think they got the idea. it only took a couple of games for them to learn that cheating dose no good because there team kept loosing any way. I called my self out after being hit buy my own teammate. after all a hit is a hit. the kid that shot me said" just stay in your on my team" after he apologized but I told him the same a hit is a hit no matter were it comes from. end of story ![]() |

| Re: Cheaters like a couple of others i was quick on the trigger.. same as every one has said tell the ref a good field will have good refs forthe most part. even though a few bad one get through. when i was a ref for sc if i was told that some one rubbed wiped or dirted. my attention became focused on him a bit more than others, only cause we had enough refs to cover our fields. but on the occasion that i would not have gotten hit a quick follow up feathering of my trigger would happen, or i would do a welt party to get a point across. (a game legal hosing) have my squad flank and circle the cheater indipendantly and on the green we all pop up and send a couple or five balls apiece into his cover three or four usually will conect.. once as a ref some may flame me for doing what i did but others will praise me.. on the filed at SC a young (11-12) player and his dad got my attention. there was a welcome to paintball party on this kid 3 players. he told me that he had hit them each at least two times in the past three games and they were wiping . so i nodded said it would be taken care of and go back to playing.. took up a concealed position and watched as sure as the sky is blue on a clear sunny day. the kid and his dad owned their butts all three got hit. the ducked behind thier cover took a hand towel out and wiped. i poped out and stood where they could see me staring at them they handed off the towel and one of them tried to bury it. i acted like i hadnt seen it and walked on i cruised by the father and son with out looking i told them to call out malfuntion real loud in a few seconds. and stood off . when they called out i went over the three broke cover. and went to a different cover that left them in the open from my vantage point. i grabbed the kids marker. looked over it as if i was trying to fix it and saw one of the guys looking at me. he turned away and it featherd the trigger and covered two in paint. handed the marker to the kid quick like. and as they jumped up i yelled your out. they ran over and complained of course saying i didnt give them a chance to get covered before i gave the marker back. i told them that i didnt call a no shoot or hold the game was still in play and all players active, and said that the kid and his dad stayed in cover. they called me a cheater. imagine that. i motioned for them to walk over to the previous cover. they followed me and i reached down and picked up their dirty towel. and smiled and said barrel plugs in march off the field pack their gear and go home for the day. i had no argument from them. but in the same regards also told them they could come back tomorow or the following weekend if they wished and ask for me by name and they could be given the chance to prove this was a fluke and that they were upstanding members of the paintball comunity. i guess they were not cause i never saw them again after that day. well at least while i worked there. this of course was an extreme situation. but in the end as a player id tell the ref then tell the manager and if no results from that i`d stalk the hell out of that player and let him wipe as much as he wanted to but im sure after a few games of getting hit repeatedly from me wipe after wipe he`d go home cause he is got to many welts, and is in to much pain.

| Re: Cheaters I put 3-4 rounds into him even if he is on my own team. If Im going to play Im going to do it fairly and the actions of one team member shows on the team as a whole.

| Re: Cheaters wipers, I though that was the reason to carry a scepter! Seriously, I approach a ref. I usually do not scream unless it is blantant! Becarful with your accusations too, I usually yell no break or ask for a paintcheck when I am hit. I have gone out with no breaks because I KNOW my ghillie soaks hits. The walk on crowds are even noticing that I'll take a hit even though it did not break. I also ask opponents to look for hits when I am in the dead box, all this is curtacy and helps your rep. It also sets a good example. Most of the problems around here are with the delusional power ranger dressed "I think I'm a tourney player on ESPN crowd", This group there is no hope for, They think wiping is OK if you get away with it and part of the game. They are also out of thier element in the woods. I avoid them when ever possible unfortunatelly tourney attitude it the rule around here so I just got to deal with them. |
